In May 2006, Powder River Petroleum International Inc. purchased a project in the Brookshire Salt Dome area, located west of Houston, Texas in Waller County. The Brookshire Salt Dome region is among the most prolific salt domes in Texas. Salt dome production historically comes in with high initial production numbers that decrease quickly and maintain a low and steady production rate for the economic life of the wells. Powder River Petroleum International Inc. is currently drilling on this project. The first well on the project – the Minns Josh #1 – was completed in October 2006. It hit four pay zones, each of which held over 1000 psi average. This well was put into production on December 8, 2006 at a rate of 110 barrels of oil per day. A second well was drilled in spring of 2007. Further production was temporarily delayed by severe flooding in the region. Powder River Petroleum International Inc. intends to have this property in full production by the end of 2008.
